Moccasins & Microphones: Modern Native Storytelling through Performance Poetry explores the world of a dynamic team of indigenous youth writers from the Santa Fe Indian School in New New Mexico. Led by teacher and poet Timothy P. McLaughlin, the SFIS Spoken Word Program empowers its student members to create and perform original poems centered in Native philosophies. 

This documentary journeys with the core members of SFIS Spoken Word Team through their final year in high school as the prepare and present a theatre production of their finest poems. Follow the team as the transform words on a page to movement on the stage and ultimately to a performance at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
